We have a busy week next week. To kick it off, we have parent teacher conferences. If you are unsure of your conference time, please email me and I can let you know! I have heard from almost all of you already. I am looking forward to share your child's success with you. Conferences are on Monday and Wednesday. Our school Book Fair is going to be happening during conferences as well. Even if you aren't planning on buying a book, go down and check it out. It is decorated beautifully and is worth a look! I have also sent out a book order in case anyone is interested in ordering books that way. I plan to place that order on Saturday. On Thursday, we will be walking down to the ECC at 9:10 in the morning. We will be celebrating March is Reading Month with the preschoolers in Mrs.Harmon's class by reading to them. Please have your child bring in a favorite picture book or two to read! Curriculum & Reminders: Monday & Wednesday - Conferences Tuesday - Mrs.Gitler at district Math meeting Thursday - trip to the ECC Friday - PJ day Gym - Thursday
There are many things coming up quickly in March! To start with, we have our spirit days that go along with March is Reading Month. Please take a look at your child's agenda each night to see if there is a reading month reminder in there. I will also post the spirit days schedule. We also kick off March is Reading Month with our second Family Book Club meeting celebrating the reading of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you read this book together as a family, please come and join us on Tuesday at 6:00 in Park's Gym!
Conference forms have gone home! Please take a moment and mark this date on your schedule! Unfortunately due to the large class size, I am unable to rearrange times. This year all of my time slots are filled! I look forward to sharing your child's incredible progress with you! I have noticed that students are struggling a little bit more to get their homework done in the past few weeks. Please encourage your child to get that page done! If your child struggles with the homework, jot a quick note on top. I use that homework as an extra guide as to who needs a little more time learning the concepts. Our new spelling has started. All spelling lessons are taking place in the classroom, so there will not be a list that goes home. We are working on understanding the patterns in spelling and being able to apply it to our everyday writing beyond just a few words on a list. The kids seemed to enjoy exploring the words last week and I look forward to more this week! Spirit Days: Monday, March 5: Wear a readable hat Friday, March 9: Flashlight Friday: Bring a flashlight Friday, March 16: Team up with Reading: Wear your favorite team shirt Friday, March 23: Slip into reading: wear pajamas & slippers to school Thursday, March 29: Tropical Day PE - Monday this week Early release Friday |
