We sure packed a lot into our two days last week! We were able to secure a food drive win, meaning that our class will be able to go on a special field trip to the bowling alley! We are so excited about this! We will be celebrating our win on December 9th with a pizza lunch and bowling for the afternoon. We also started kinder buddies last week. Students had a chance to meet with their buddies for the first time. They did such an excellent job of being the teacher to these younger students! I loved seeing the unique ways that they would find to teach their buddy something new. We have a book club scheduled for December 3rd, but due to low attendance (only 2 confirmed) I will be canceling it. Following our Christmas break, I will put out a survey to see if we can find a day of the week that would work better for families and we will give book club another try! Division flash cards will be coming home this week with students who have passed their multiplication cards. If a student takes the large 5min. test and is able to score a 90% or higher, they will not have to go through the division card process. Tests will be run in the same way for the division cards. Holiday Hope shopping will be taking place this weekend! There is still time to donate if you wish! We will be meeting at the Target in Grandville at 10:00am right inside the doors. I will hand you a bag that tells you who you will be shopping for and the type of item (sizes if needed) that you will be buying. If you are unable to shop, please send in your donation and we will shop for you! Our wrapping party is still set to take place on December 11th! Our final house was Addie's house. Addie just got home from the hospital and her face lit up when she saw her friends standing at her door. We had a chance to show Addie our love and support by removing all of her leaves from her yard. I am so proud of this group and the hard work that they put in! Upcoming Service OpportunitiesWe will continue to learn about acts of service and how we can give to those around us. Coming up in a few short weeks is our Holiday Hope project.
