We had a fantastic time bowling on Wednesday! All students did such an awesome job bowling and really seemed to enjoy themselves. Kyle was our top bowler with a score well above 100! What a great way to celebrate being the one!

It is hard to believe that we are in our last week before break! We will be getting in a lot of hard work this week before we take a break. Holiday Hope is all wrapped and ready to be delivered! The kids were the fastest wrapping group that I have had yet! We were wrapped and labeled in less than 20min! That is pretty impressive! Thank you for all of your donations both in gifts, wrapping paper, and time. On Christmas morning, please take a moment to reflect with your child on how that family is enjoying their Christmas as well. The Christmas Program will be taking place on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Please bring your child down to room 44 to meet before the program begins. When the program is finished, you will meet your child back down in room 44. The students have been working so hard and their program sounds great! Our Christmas party will be taking place on Friday afternoon. Due to our wrapping party last week, this party we will be simply watching a Christmas movie and eating treats. If you signed up to bring a treat I will be sending you an email to confirm your treat donation! Curriculum Update Math - This week we will be working on elapsed time. This is one of the toughest concepts that we cover all year. Please take some time to review time with your child over the break! Writing - We will be working on writing our chapters to our informational pieces this week. Students have done a great job with their research! Science- This week we will be wrapping up animal adaptations. We will be doing a series of experiments including an owl pellet dissection late in the week! We will be reviewing for our test when we return from break. Reading - We will be continuing to work on investigating informational reading this week. We will be focusing on cause and effect as we dig into our biography this week. Reminders: Tuesday - Christmas program Friday - Christmas movie PE - Wednesday We had a wonderful week last week! We ended our week with a visit from some of our animal kingdom friends. Ripple the turtle joined us as did some sweet guinea pigs, and some beautiful frogs! The kids enjoyed taking a look at these critters and were awesome about taking notes in their observation notebooks. We took sometime to look at the behaviors and and physical features of these animals. I am really looking forward to some awesome experiments this week that will help us to understand animal adaptations better. This weekend, we had our Holiday Hope shopping event. It was so great! We have done a fantastic job selecting gifts for each one of these precious children. Our family consists of a 4 year old boy, 6 year old girl, and 10 year old girl. Their eyes are going to light up when they see all of the fun things that they are getting! Thank you a thousand times for al of your help and support during this event. This week we have a whole bunch of stuff going on! On Tuesday, I will be out for the afternoon. Our third grade team will be meeting to discuss data and new ways to group our kiddos for optimal learning. Wednesday we have our bowling party!! Please remember that students do not need a lunch (unless they do not enjoy pizza!). We will be enjoying a pizza lunch and bowling for the afternoon at HUdsonville Lanes. Friday we have our wrapping party! I love this event, it is one of my favorite events of the whole year! I will be providing cookies and hot chocolate to the students. If you have any additional wrapping paper, clothing boxes, or tape that you would like to donate please send it in! Our Party will begin at 2:40 following recess time. Thank you for all of your donations for Holiday Hope! I am looking forward to wrapping with you and the kids! Reminders: PE - Tuesday & Friday Tuesday - Mrs.Gitler out PM (but still in the school!)
