Last week was busy! We filled it with our final M-STEP test, curriculum, and an egg drop. We are not slowing our pace down just yet. We will now be turning our focus to finishing up our drafts for our wax museum so that we can begin making finals and creating our posters. The kids are doing an amazing job putting together their research to create paragraphs for their posters. The egg drop was a lot of fun! The kids dove right in and started designing all sorts of contraptions to place their egg in. Parachutes quickly were added to try and slow the drop, while others packed their containers full of stuffing! In the end, only a few eggs broke in all of 3rd grade! Not a bad outcome for a first time egg drop! :) Thank you for your support and sending in materials! Reminders: Tuesday - Parent Club meeting 9am Thursday - GYM May 31 - Wax Museum @ 2:45 - 3:30 June 6th - Picnic and Field Day June 7th - Early Release Our ELA M-STEP was a doozy, but the kids tackled it so well. After three long days of testing, we were able to say good-bye to the first round of the M-STEP. We will be completing our math M-STEP on Tuesday this week. Please be sure to have your child to school on time and we will get started right away. This test usually isn't as long, but it is hard to say how long it will take. We are all so excited to be able to kiss this test good-bye! We are in the drafting process for our wax museum projects. Students have been working hard to understand their character and the traits that they have so that they can become that character for the wax museum on May 31st. Below you will find some examples from last year's projects. If you would like to provide alphabet stickers, a specific poster, or other materials for your child's project, we will begin creating posters in a week and a half. Last week, we spent some time exploring during Genius Hour. The projects that the kids have going on are just so much fun! Our group that has worked on creating kits for the homeless has bagged things up and is ready to go! Our group creating chemo kits for kids, has begun the process of collecting for their kits. Kids are exploring the ocean, searching for pollution solutions, creating catapults, and more. I love watching the kids explore during this time!
