Our next service project is upon us! We have our Holiday Hope project starting up. This is a project that is near and dear to my heart. For Christmas, We will be adopting a family that lives in the Hudsonville area. Our goal will be to provide a magical Christmas morning for this family. A note will come home this week detailing the dates of this event. On this paper you will let me know what monetary and service commitments you are able to make to this project. Thank you so much for your support. I know we will fill many hearts with joy! Don't forget that we have another book club meeting coming up! I have so many fun detective activities planned for this one and I would love for many to join. Please let me know if this is something that you plan to attend. We will be reading Room One by Andrew Clements. Curriculum Update: Math - This week we will be working on learning the order of operations (PEMDAS). We will also be working on solving multistep word problems. Our focus will be on identifying the first step of the problem. Science - This week we will be working on understanding animal groups. Students will begin by investigating vertebrates vs. invertebrates. We will move to learning about the adaptations that animals have. Writing- This week we will focus on fixing up our opinion essays. Students have worked hard on organizing their thoughts! Reading- This week we will be working on identifying the main idea and supporting details.
