We had such an amazing Rake and Run. We raked Mrs.Vruggink's yard first. Students descended on the yard and had the leaves cleaned up in 20min. They enjoyed a yummy treat before we headed to the next location. Our final house was Addie's house. Addie just got home from the hospital and her face lit up when she saw her friends standing at her door. We had a chance to show Addie our love and support by removing all of her leaves from her yard. I am so proud of this group and the hard work that they put in! Upcoming Service OpportunitiesWe will continue to learn about acts of service and how we can give to those around us. Coming up in a few short weeks is our Holiday Hope project. During this project we will be shopping for a family in need. We will shop for and wrap gifts for every member of the family. More information about the family that we will be shopping for will be coming home shortly. We will be donating our time and effort at Kids' Food Basket in January. This is a limited space activity and only 15 students can attend with one adult each. We will be bagging snacks for the dinners that are sent home with hungry children each night. Please watch for information regarding this opportunity! I love taking these moments to watch the heart of each student hard at work. I love knowing that they feel good and full of love as they help other people. These small acts make such a large impact on the lives of those that we are helping. Thank you for all of your support as we embark on a year of learning and service. UpdateI am looking forward to speaking with each of you at conferences this week. If you are unable to attend, please be sure to contact me. We can work to find a way to touch base.
