VIP CAFEOne of our fun events that took place shortly before break was our VIP Cafe. Students worked so hard to perfect their poems about their VIPs and prepare their gifts. Their hard work really paid off and the VIP cafe was a success! Thank you for all of your generous donations to help make this day perfect. Please take a moment to check out the pictures below. Holiday HopeOur Holiday Hope project was so wonderful and successful! We were able to provide so much for our adopted family. I know that Christmas morning was filled with wonder and new hope for that family! Below are some pictures from our wrapping party. The gifts looked wonderful as they were loaded up to be delivered! Thank you for all of your help and donations to make this project a success. Special PresentationsIn our last week of school we had two special presenters visit our classroom. During our Christmas Around the World unit we had a chance to have Mrs.Highland come and talk to us about Christmas traditions in Russia. The students were so engaged and asking great questions throughout the presentation. I even heard the question, "Do they have a king and queen in Russia or is their government like ours." (A little off topic, but a great question!!). Thank you, Mrs.Highland, for coming in to share with our class! Later in the week we had Jonah's aunt present to the class. She is an editor for a publishing company and was the perfect person for our budding authors to talk to. Students learned about how long it takes an author to publish a book and how many times an author rewrites a story before it is ready. This was such wonderful information for the kids to hear especially as we were wrapping up our argumentative essay! Thank you so much, Stephanie!
