I hope you all had a marvelous spring break! I think it is just what everyone needed. I had a wonderful time soaking up the sun at Disney with my family. We are now in the final stretch of the school year (how is this possible?). This year is different than others because we have our testing at the end of the year as opposed to the beginning. We will be practicing for our test during intervention time so that all of the students feel comfortable going into test week (end of May). I will be giving mad minute tests every other week for the remainder of the year. Please keep an eye out for these tests to come home. If you see that your child is scoring below 80% on these tests please continue to practice at home. Spelling is also done at this point. Keep an eye on your child's agenda as additional homework will be assigned. Green homework will continue to come home on Monday and be due on Thursday. Curriculum Update: Math - This week we will be working more with area and perimeter. We will be working on decomposing rectangles to find area. Also, please continue to study vocabulary! Science - We will be working on sound this week. We will be completing a lab on sound in the middle of the week. Grammar - We will be focusing on commas this week! Watch for work to come home. Writing - This week we will start with our post assessment of Narrative. We will be beginning our research and report unit next based on Michigan cities. Reading - This week we will be investigating social issues in books. We will be reading Loser by Jerry Spinelli and talking about the themes that are present throughout the story. Reminders: PE - Monday & Thursday April 26th- KFB 4pm
